So: You've got your crystals and you've started connecting with them. (If not; read our first intro blog post here) But you may be wondering how to start incorporating them into your daily life? I'm going to go through a little bit of the Who, What, Where, When and Why's of incorporating stones and crystals into your daily life.
Most average people aren't dedicated yogi's or mediums who work with stones or energy work often. I assume you may have purchased one of our crystal towers or pyramids, or maybe you purchased little pebble stones, palm stones, or worry stones. You may be a SAHM, or work in an office 9-5. You may be a security officer, MUA, or musician. These are all the people I encounter in my business and all of these people are interested in stones and crystals. I built my business for everyone, but most specifically - the Average Jane or Joe, just trying to get through life who are open minded and enjoy crystals or are open to a more holistic approach to life's daily stresses.
There are several different forms of crystals that can be incorporated into daily practice. They may come in the form of a worry stone, which is a thin stone where you hold between your index finger and thumb and rub it in times of stress or anxiety. You can have crystal towers or pyramids which are simply for display in an area where you may frequently work in or study at. They can come in the shape of a wand where you can use them to scan, cleanse or purify auras. They can be worn as a bracelet or necklace, or even kept in a little pouch for you to keep in your pocket, purse or bag. Whatever you feel most called to doing or having, feel free to explore it! I personally prefer a bracelet, necklace or some form of display stone (Geode, Cutbase or Tower).
You can place your display stones anywhere you feel called to, though some stones have some specific purposes. For example, Fluorite helps with electromagnetic stress, so I often keep it near my desk or work area where I know I'll be on my computer, near a router or electrical outlet(s) for long periods of time. I also keep Smoky Quartz in my work space to help purify the energy around me so that it can dispel negative vibes from maybe someone in the next cubicle who may be having a bad day. Stones like Amethyst help with Insomnia, so place them under a pillow or place a tower near your bedside.
Anytime! Crystals are Earth's gifts that are beautiful but are also helpful and supporting. They're quiet and discreet so I'm sure placing a small tower on your desk at work won't interfere with that meeting you're preparing for.
Many people have their own motivations for gravitating toward crystals and stones for support. I'll share with you my why.
When I was young (around 5 or 6 years old), I saw my first geode. It was a very large (at least 5 pounds) piece and I just thought it was one of the coolest things I had ever seen. It was natural, organic, still had dirt remnants. It was sparkly when the sun hit it's facets and I just thought it was so amazing that the Earth could create something so cool (my thought was not this eloquent though). Since that point, I gravitated to crystals and stones more and as I got older, I started to collect some. It wasn't until I was an adult had I realized that stones and crystals had their own properties that could help people with different ailments.
I am a highly sensitive person, and I am very in-tune with my emotions and health. I have clinical anxiety, depression and PTSD, and traditional medications made me feel too happy or too low, nauseous or sleepy. Trying to be productive at work was proving to be difficult, so I weaned myself off of medication*. I started exploring more holistic ways to health through food, physical activity, therapy and the metaphysical.
(I do not recommend weaning yourself off medication without the supervision of a medical professional)
Not only did these crystals make me feel better, but they were also visually appealing and I could discreetly include them in jewelry I made or incorporate them into my decor. I felt better, felt more confident and I began trusting the Earth and sharing my gratitude and appreciation through my meditations, yoga practices, and as a result, the Earth and Universe took care of me.
Not everyone's story is the same so I encourage you to reflect and think about what your why is. Is it simply that they're beautiful, or are you interested in the emotional benefits? Whatever it is, it is your journey and yours only. No one can take that away from you so do what your heart tells you!
